Year 12 Biology

Our Year 12 Term is inclusive of 11 weeks comprising of 10 teaching lessons and 1 formal exam.
The main focus of this course is to teach the scientific knowledge and concepts required to effectively answer questions in the HSC Exam.

This course began in Term 3 2023.

As HSC examinations shift toward assessing students’ abilities to apply existing knowledge to new scenarios, it has become increasingly important to holistically understand course content and effectively communicate learning outcomes. My teaching style aims to contextualise new and existing information so that students can make cross-module links and extrapolate their understanding of key syllabus concepts to diverse exam content.

I aim to ensure that my students have a thorough understanding of the syllabus rather than rote learning, which enables them to solve more difficult questions that require problem solving skills. Having been less confident in Chemistry in my junior years, but now having it as one of my stronger subjects, this experience has enabled me to understand any struggles my students are facing, and in turn enable them to realise their full potential.

Skilled at teaching students at all levels and has produced outstanding Band 6 results and state ranks in Biology.
