My teaching style breaks down complex concepts into simple, bite-sized portions so that students can build strong foundations that they can draw upon to address any problem, regardless of difficulty. Through this, I help students become flexible and develop critical thinking skills, preparing them for exam success.

Success in HSC science depends on how well you can apply your skills in unfamiliar situations, rather than superficial memorisation. My teaching style aims to foster a natural passion for science and an intuitive understanding of key scientific concepts, so that students are primed to tackle any question they are presented with.

Learning is similar to gaming. If a game is too hard, it is easy to give up. If a game is too easy, you can become bored. I take my students from the start to finish, level by level, making sure they remain engaged with their learning as they master syllabus content.

Ms Jin

Chemistry Teacher
Bachelor of Medical Science/Doctor of Medicine at UNSW
ATAR 99.90
99 in Chemistry - State Rank 5th in NSW (2021)
97 in Physics

I aim to build an integrated and structured understanding of the fundamental scientific concepts. I hope to do this by stimulating your curiosity and extending upon it with logical thinking to prepare for the increasingly challenging style of HSC questions.

Ms Lu

Chemistry Teacher
Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine at UNSW

ATAR 99.85
98 in Chemistry (2021)
Australian Science Olympiads Chemistry Scholar

I aim to adapt to my students’ learning styles and be flexible in my teaching approach. It is essential to recognise when students are struggling and be willing to change lesson plans to suit the individual students in the classroom. I like to encourage students to attempt questions as they learn new concepts so they can instantly see how the knowledge they gain is applied in exam-style situations.

Mr Yin

Chemistry Teacher
Bachelor of Medical Science / Doctor of Medicine at UNSW

ATAR 99.95
99 in Physics - State Rank 6th in NSW (2020)

Top Three Overall at The King’s School (2020)
2nd in Chemistry (2020)
1st in Physics (2020)
3+ years of teaching experience

My teaching style involves breaking down concepts and explaining them in a logical, stepwise manner. In this way, I believe students can more easily understand key concepts and learn how to apply them to a wide range of questions.

Mr Cawse

Deputy Principal of Reddam House Bondi, achieving outstanding results in Physics and Chemistry

40+ years of experience in HSC teaching and private coaching

Exceptional experience with articulate and accessible explanations of even the hardest concepts Content and harder syllabus dot points are simplified into easier ideas that then piece together to make sense of more complicated concepts.

Mr Guo

Chemistry Teacher

Mr K Wang

Increasingly, HSC Chemistry is applying and extending syllabus concepts, shifting away from rote-learned answers. My approach focusses on logically explaining fundamentals which, with apt inclusion of additional questions and relevant extension material, provides students both the foundation and impetus to develop their own complex understanding of the course.

Mr Saweris

I aim to ensure that my students have a thorough understanding of the syllabus rather than rote learning, which enables them to solve more difficult questions that require problem solving skills. Having been less confident in Chemistry in my junior years, but now having it as one of my stronger subjects, this experience has enabled me to understand any struggles my students are facing, and in turn enable them to realise their full potential.
